HOW TO BE AN ASTRONOMER

how to book

How To Be An Astronomer by Robin Scagell is a how to book for young teens all about the stars and planets, our Solar System, and how to get started observing it all. Scagell takes the reader through the basics and more about how our universe is structured, in other words, what humans have to look at in the night sky. The tools at an aspiring astronomer’s disposal and how to get started are all in this book.

The layouts

The layout of How To Be An Astronomer is meant to mimic the feeling of being in space. The large negative spaces in dark blue or off white are what I imagine deep space looks like without stars.

The diagrams and art are thin and simple to make it easier to understand with pop of color for the more important aspects.

ORIGINAL ART

The original art sketched and finished in procreate was then exported and finished up in Adobe Illustrator and Indesign.
